Cranes are among the oldest living bird species on Earth and the whooping crane is the rarest of all. In the mid-1800's, the whooping crane population was estimated to be between 700 and 1,500 individuals, but in recent years only 21 birds were left in the wild. This is a story
told by Lizzie Condon working here from Baraboo, WI

with the International Crane Foundation, about how North America's endangered whooping crane is making a comeback. Program includes a lively presentation with time to explore the Whooping Crane Traveling Trunk.
