Parents and younger siblings are welcome to enjoy the creek and miles of nature trails!

Come enjoy a full day at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve. We will be attending two classes with the preserve instructors.

Before lunch we will have a 2 hour Alabama Geology class with discussion and exploratory hike.

After lunch we have a 2 hour class on stream ecology with hands-on time in the creek catching critters and discussing how what we find indicates good or bad health for the local ecosystem.

If the weather is too chilly to be in the creek, we have arranged to attend a herpetology class with lots of interaction with the snakes of the area as well as a herp hike to learn more about their natural environment.

After class, we are free to swim and play the rest of the afternoon!
Bring a picnic lunch, plenty of drinks, clothes for getting wet in.

Meet at the Falls parking area at 8:45 a.m.
There will be an intro and safety talk given by the instructors at 9 a.m.
Classes start at 9:30 a.m.
