Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

March, Cullman: Cullman Ag Events (Sewing, Natural Egg Dying, Water Cycles, and More)

Hi, All,

We are lucky to have professional seamstress Jean Kessinger teaching Sewing 101 on Thursday night at 6:00 pm.  We decided to offer this program after our Sewing Camp parents said they needed to learn to sew on a button, hem pants, repair clothes, and just basic sewing.  This is for adults and kids 9 and up with an adult.  It will be $5.  Call 256-297-1044 or go on-line www.agriplex.org to register.  

February 25, 6:00 PM - Heritage Skills: Sewing 101 - Jean Kessinger will teach this class on the basics of sewing. Learn the techniques to mend buttons and shirts. $5 Registration required.

March 5, 9:00 - 10:30 AM - Farm Kids Club: Natural Egg Dying - Back due to popular demand is our Natural Egg Dying Farm Kids Club. Come dye some eggs using natural dyes just in time for Easter. Registration required. $5 per child, maximum $10 per family.

March 11, 7:00 PM - Movie Night: Dirt! - Jamie Lee Curtis narrates this movie about the wonders of Dirt. From the political, economic, social and environmental impact of soil, this movie is a call to arms for one of our most precious resources. Free. Snacks and refreshments available.

March 15, 9:00 - 11:00 AM - Heritage Homeschool: Water Cycles and Terrarium - Precipitation, Evaporation, Runoff, Infiltration, we will cover it all as we look at the water cycle on the earth. Then we will build our own mini water cycles in a take home terrarium. $8 per child, maximum $16 per child.

March 15, 6:00 PM - Book Club: Tell me Where It Hurts: A Day of Humor, Healing, and Hope in My Life as an Animal Surgeon by Nick Trout - Trout, a surgeon at Boston’s Angell Animal Medical Center, tells the story of his 25 years as a veterinarian from the joys, pains, and hilarious encounters. March 22, 6:00 PM - Living Landscapes: Growing Apple Trees with Steel Orchard - Linda Steele, of Steele Orchard, leads a discussion on growing apple and peach trees. Of course, Steele Orchard Apple treats will be provided. Apple trees may be available for purchase. $5

March 29, 6:00PM - Heritage Skills: Natural Body Care and Cleansing -
