Touring Farms for Kids is a two day hands-on, educational farm tour around Cullman County for kids ages 7-13. It runs on June 15 and 16 from 8:00-3:00pm. The camp costs $25 and covers both lunches, all snacks, a t-shirt, and $5 voucher for Festhalle Farmer's market.
June 4th- POP Program at Festhalle Market- 8:00-2:00pm- Free Power of Produce Program with fun activities, monthly tastings, $2 tokens to spend. For children 12 and under with parental registration at market. At Festhalle Marketplatz by Depot Park.
June 9th, 6:00 pm: How to Set Up Home Irrigation with Tim Crowe, Cullman County Extension agent. Through a hands-on workshop in the Agriplex Raised Bed gardens, learn how to set up a home irrigation system using rain collection or city water. $5 per person.
Monarchs and Milkweed Festival :
June 11th, Farm Kid's Club- Monarchs and Milkweed- 9:00-10:30am. See monarch butterflies up close and join a monarch release. Learn about the life cycle of these amazing butterflies and take home milkweeds to plant for the butterflies. Ages 5 and up with an adult, $5 per person, $10 per family
June 11th, Monarchs and Milkweed Program, 2:00pm. For adults and older kids. Monarch populations are on the decline. Learn how to save these amazing butterflies and other native pollinators by planting host plants and native plants in your yard. Free milkweed plants will be given to all participants. $5 per person.
June 11, 7:00 PM - Movie Night: DisneyNature Wings of Life - This family friendly movie narrated by Meryl Streep provides “a stunning adventure full of intrigue, drama and mesmerizing beauty.” This “intimate and unprecedented look at butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, bats and flowers is a celebration of life, as a third of the world's food supply depends on these incredible -- and increasingly threatened -- creatures.” Free.
