Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

2016/2017 Bham: Heritage Alive! Program at the Bham Civil Rights Museum

Good morning, my name is Yvette Chatman and I am the community literacy coordinator for the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. I would like to share information on the Heritage Alive! literacy program with the home school community. Heritage Alive! Is a series of free 45 minute programs designed to engage young learners (pre school- 3rd grade) with interactive activities that include reading, creative dramatics, music, visual arts and a social studies and civic curriculum. The program's main aim is to help young students build strong character traits.

Sessions are offered every Thursday at 10:00. A tour of our Permanent Galleries are included, so families can expect to spend 1 1/2  hours with us.  Registration is required. Families can register by email - ychatman@bcri.org or phone- 205 328 9696 ext 249

Thanks, I hope to hear from you soon.
