Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

The Alabama Museum of Natural History is excited to announce our Fall schedule of events!

¨ Natural History with the Experts
September  10, 24 — October  1, 15, 22 — November 12, 19
Stop by the museum on game day to meet experts in geology, paleontology, archaeology, biology, and more! Free event 2 hours before kick-off in front of Smith Hall.
¨ Alabama Museum of Natural History’s Junior Naturalist Program
September 17—October 15—December 3
Have you ever wanted to learn how to identify trees, leaves, flowers, and insects? Then this is the program for you! Join us as we visit local sites and learn about nature. For 3rd-6th grader explorers. 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. $10 per session. Space is limited. Registration is required.  
¨ Growing Up Wild Preschool Friday
September 2, October 7, November 4, December 2
Preschoolers and their caregivers are invited to explore the Museum and learn about nature through activities, crafts and stories. $2 per child and caregiver. 10:00 a.m.– noon.
¨ Museum Monday
September 5, October 3, November 7, December 5
Come experience the Museum in a whole new way! Stomp around with dinosaurs, unearth rocks and minerals, and discover a host of other natural wonders. For K-2nd grade explorers. 3:30-5:00 p.m. $8 per session. Registration is required.
¨ National Fossil Day
October 12
Join us for a celebration all things fossil during this National Park Service established day of fossil appreciation and stewardship. 4:00-6:00 p.m., free and fun for all ages.
¨ A Haunting at the Museum
October 25
Decide for yourself if the campus is really haunted when you join us for guided, candlelit ghost walks around the Quad, ghostly stories in the Museum and spooky crafts for the kids. Free and fun for all ages. 6:00-8:00 p.m.
¨ Holiday Open House
December 4
Get in the holiday spirit with the beautifully decorated Smith Hall! Listen to music in the Gallery, try your hand at a scavenger hunt, and come create with activities for the kids. Free and fun for all ages. 4:00-5:30 p.m.
