We will meet outside the center at 9:50 and head in together at 10.
We will:
Visit The Interactive Museum (TIM), a two-story environmental showcase that challenges visitors to slide down a giant sewage pipe, lift a week's worth of garbage, or identify the sources of air pollution on a moving city scape model.
Tour the nearby EcoScape, a 4-acre outdoor classroom with paths winding through a miniature Mobile Basin wetland, past beneficial bug sculptures and fragrance gardens, and along the Appalachian Trail to a two-story treehouse. Learn about medicinal plants, edible landscapes, and sustainable landscape practices.
Complete your visit by making EcoArt. Transform discarded telephone wires, bottle caps, old CDs and more into home jewelry.
Younger siblings can not attend this field trip.
Closed toed shoes are recommended. Dress for the weather as part of the day we will be outdoors (unless it’s raining).
There are picnic tables nearby for lunch afterward, or if it is chilly, we are welcome to use the college food court.
Deadline to signup, pay, and cancellation is Nov. 29. Please RSVP to Esther at roamschool@gmail.com with your headcount by November 29th. Payment can be made via PayPal or personal check.
This event is open to all homeschoolers. Please review the Everest Academy Participation Policy before attending any of our events.
