Seeking Your Best & Brightest Juniors for the
Rural Health Scholars Program
|We need your help in identifying candidates for UA's Rural Health Scholars Program.|
High school juniors interested in healthcare are invited to come to the UA campus for five weeks during the summer to live in college dorms and take two college-level courses. Additionally, students will get the opportunity to participate in health-related seminars and field trips and even get to shadow physicians at University Medical Center.
Research shows that students from rural areas who study medicine often return to rural settings to practice as professionals. By fostering an interest in healthcare now, this program seeks to improve and expand medical services in rural communities in the future.
Please share this information with your colleagues and ask them to encourage the best and brightest students to apply to this exciting program.
Application deadline is March 15. Eligibility requirements are available in the program brochure, flyer and online.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
