Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

March 10 & April 4, 2017 McCalla: Tannehill Homeschool Events

Good afternoon,

I am writing to fill you in on some of the upcoming opportunities we have for home school students here at Tannehill this spring. These events are open to home school groups and individual families. Each program requires prepayment of the program fee to guarantee a reservation. I hope your families can join us for these fun events!

Civil War Living History
March 10, 2017 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm
Experience what life was like for soldiers and civilians during the Civil War including demonstrations of infantry, cavalry, and artillery! Students will also have the opportunity to participate in drill activities and learn about Civil War soldiers’ flags and camps, what soldiers carried in the field, how they ate, and more. Annual Homeschool Day
April 4, 2017 9:30 am – 12:00 pm
Try your hand at making art with our resident crafters. Students will spend 45 minutes each with our potters and our engraver to learn about each art form and make their own small projects. Afterwards, enjoy a train ride and a picnic lunch in the park! Pre-registration is required. Program fee is $15 for students making art projects and $6 for parents.
