
FLFR and the Birmingham Canoe Club will present this award winning outdoor classroom on the Locust Fork River for kids 8 years and older. Including certified canoe instruction and a variety of ‘nature’ learning stations, Kid's Day on the River makes for fun learning for kids and parents. Free, but registration is required.

The BEEP Award (Best Environmental Education Programs).
Summer fun, environmental education and adventures by the river for students in grades 2-6 and their families. Hands-on activities on the banks of the beautiful Locust Fork River. Trained leaders in kayaking and canoeing and learning about the river, ecology and watershed. Kids do get wet and meet live animals! Free lunch included. When you register we will provide directions to the event.
