Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

Sep. 7, 2017, Bham: UAB International Welcome Party (FREE)

Hello Homeschool Families,

In May we had an outstanding visit from a representative of UAB’s International Student Community Sharifa Wip, who generously shared with us stories and experiences of her home country, Suriname. Ms. Wip, and the UAB International Mentors have extended an invitation to all interested Homeschool Families to attend their upcoming annual International Welcome Party. It promises to be an educational opportunity where guests can speak to representatives of UAB’s International Community, ask questions, sample international foods, and learn about different cultures first hand.

The event will be September 7th, 2017 from 5:00pm- 7:00 pm in the UAB Hall Student Center Amphitheater. Families with questions or who are interested in learning more about this community opportunity can speak to JoAnn Fong, the new Intern Coordinator @ UAB. Call the Student Multicultural & Diversity Program at UAB @ 205-975-8673, or email diversity@uab.edu
