Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

This event is for parents only. We have a maximum of 15. Please do not sign up and not show up because you will be taking up the spot of someone else.

What: Homeschooling the Highschooler Workshop

Who: All homeschoolers are welcome; however, we will be discussing homeschooling from the perspective of Everest requirements. 

Where: 
Shades Valley Community Church 
160 Oxmoor Road Homewood, AL 
(The original ice skating rink)

When: March 5, 2018 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.

RSVP:  Please RSVP to Deb Spradlin at everestacademy1@gmail.com or (205) 433-9828 no later than Feb. 26, 2018.  If you are a brand new homeschooler, please plan to attend the "New to Homeschooling" workshop as well as we will not be discussing how to homeschool in the "Homeschooling a Highschooler" work shop.  Make sure to note in your RSVP that you want to attend both workshops.   




Before Attending:
Please make sure to thoroughly read the Everest Academy Handbook and the Everest Academy High School Handbook before attending this workshop.

This group will be conducted in an open "support group" forum. Deb Spradlin will lead the group.
