Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

Summer 2018, Huntsville: EarlyWorks Museum Volunteer Opportunity

Description: Description: EW-Family-of-Museums-Logo-stack compressed 26Please spread the word to all persons interested in FUN summer volunteer opportunities with The EarlyWorks Family of Museums!

The EarlyWorks Family of Museums needs your time and talents as a volunteer this summer!  We have a museum full of visitors enjoying our summer programming each day (Monday through Saturday…all summer long).  We need YOUR help as a volunteer to aid us in our interactive programming for children and families alike.

While volunteering, you will serve as a valuable member of our professional staff, interacting with the many exhibits and offerings throughout the museum floor.  Our hands-on children’s history museum takes you back in time to our southern past, with exhibits such as our talking tree, construction area, life sized keel boat, and a room with a water feature exclusively for our littlest visitors (Biscuits Backyard).

As an extension of our staff, you will aid our visitors throughout the museum and introduce them to many of the experiences we offer.  Volunteers also help in our toddler room (Biscuits Backyard) ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our smallest visitors and their chaperones.  We all do a bit of light cleaning regularly to keep the Museum Floor ready and sparkling for our guests, along with smiling and greeting everyone we meet.

Letters of volunteer verification are gladly provided and this community service experience is a wonderful addition to any resume.

Our shifts are four hours in length for persons 15 years old and up.  Feel free to volunteer with a friend, but please expect to work in different areas within the Museum, as we have approximately 50,000 square feet of interactive exhibits to cover with staff and support.  Dress expectations are khaki or black pants and a clean, white shirt without graphics.  Please also note that cell phone usage is prohibited while volunteering.  Our goal is to make sure each visitor feels like the most important part of our day.

If you are interested in volunteering with us, please use the EarlyWorks volunteer portal link below to sign up for a shift that meets your time availability.  The SignUp online system allows each volunteer to control his/her schedule as time becomes available during the summer months.
