Jamie Birath ~ Morgan/Cullman County
My name is Jamie Birath and I adore being a homeschooling Momma to 3 wonderful children. We have always homeschooled our kids; although, my husband and I were both completely public schooled. I have been married to my ruggedly handsome husband since 2007. I am so thankful that he urged me to be a stay-at-home Momma after the arrival of our first born. I grew up in Mid-Michigan in a farming community and moved to the Cullman area after I graduated college. My husband came back to this area, where he grew up, after 7 years in the US Army. We love living in a very rural area, being outdoors, boating, fishing and all types of critters.
We always knew we wanted to homeschool our children. We love the freedom it allows our family to travel when it is convenient for us, take off when family and friends are visiting, flexibility to teach what interests our children and to go on field trips to amazing places.
I love putting together field trips that kids can really get excited about and experience new things. I enjoy history immensely and love field trips that share history with attendees.
We use all different types of learning styles in our home, anywhere from Charlotte Mason to Eclectic to Montessori to Unit Studies to boxed curriculum. I believe in gearing learning to the individual child and to teach a life-long love of learning.
In what little spare time I have, I personally enjoy sewing, quilting, cooking, reading, fishing, hiking, history and genealogy.
