Washington and DuBois: Two Opinions, One Goal highlights the lives of the two important early civil rights leaders and their very different ideas about how to achieve equality. Pattie and Josephine: Waiting in Alabama tells the story of two Alabama suffragettes, comparing their experiences as women of different races. Alvin Vogtle Escapes! takes the audience to the battlefields of WWII where Vogtle was taken prisoner and attempted many escapes before succeeding. His story was part of the inspiration behind the 1960’s movie The Great Escape. Vogtle went on to climb the ranks and became CEO of Southern Company. Too Many Questions: An Evening with Virginia Durr highlights the story of the local civil rights leader. Durr worked closely with Rosa Parks, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Justice Hugo Black, and in this play we learn about them all.
