Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

February 25, 2022, Pell City: Ironworker Skills Institute Lunch & Learn

ISI's recruiting season for August 2022 is finally here!! Here are a couple of items of interest: 


  1. Lunch & Learn: will be held on Friday, February 25th at 11:30 a.m. We will cater lunch from Chick-Fil-A. This is an opportunity for counselors, parents, school board members, etc. to come to our facility to gather information about ISI. It's a great place to make connections with others who could benefit from what you are doing at your school. This is mostly for first-timers to learn about the program, but we always welcome returning counselors! PLEASE RSVP!!!
  2. Informational Packets: We will have applications, a thumb drive with videos to post, leaflets, etc. that you can use for students or parents at the Lunch & Learn.
  3. Minimum Requirements: Students must: be a Junior (preferably) or Senior, have at least a 2.0 GPA, no attendance/disciplinary issues, looking for a career path, have at least 8th grade math skills (assessment given), and be able to lift 50 lbs. repetitively.
  4. Attendance Incentive Program: We received a "Travel to Training" grant from the Truist Foundation to be used to support the students' efforts to receive training. For 2 weeks of perfect attendance, they receive a $30 Valero gas card.
  5. Receive Credits: Students will receive a 5 total (possible) credits at the completion of our program - NCCER Core, NCCER Ironworking Level 1, 2, and 3, and Career Math. Course codes will be provided if one of your students enrolls with us.
