Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

I hope you are doing well and enjoying your summer. 

 

The Network of enlightened Women, known as NeW, is hosting our annual scholarship essay contest again this year and I wanted to share the information with you for any students you believe might be interested in participating.  

 

We are inviting female high school juniors and seniors and women enrolled in an undergraduate institution to reflect on important qualities of leadership and their own leadership experiences in a 600-750 word essay. The winners of the high school and college categories will win a $500 scholarship and the chance to be published in a national publication. The contest is now open and will run until July 27. 

 

Who: Female high school juniors and seniors and women enrolled in an undergraduate institution 

 

Deadline: Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 11:59pm ET 

 

Prize: $500 for the first place winners of the College and High School Categories. The first place essays will have the opportunity to be published.
