Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

For students intrested in a healthcare career.  Please note this info is fyi only.  Please use the contact info listed below if you have any questions.  


If you have a student that is interested in a medical career, this program is an excellent way to get a deeper dive into all the fields, and specialization for different career paths.  The Program has been in place for over 40 years, and until recently was suspended due to the pandemic challenges.  Students help us determine content, and this is an excellent resume builder for their career journey.  Please share this great opportunity with your constituent groups.

     The Medical Career Explorer Program provides students with opportunities to learn more about Medical Careers through first-hand experiences. The Program features guest speakers from different healthcare fields, group tours in key specialized areas, and opportunities to ask questions of healthcare professionals currently serving in various professions.

     The Program members are not only learning about healthcare careers, participants are cultivating a network of friends from other high schools and the home school community.

     Huntsville Hospital’s Program focuses on hospital-based healthcare. Participants do not take part in hands-on patient care, but are provided exposure to a variety of observation experiences.
