Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

Alabama Ballet is delighted to announce the return of our FREE Educational Performances for the 2025–2026 season!
We invite students from kindergarten through 12th grade to experience the magic of live dance at our Student Matinees. These performances offer a unique opportunity for students to witness the beauty and athleticism of professional ballet—both classical and contemporary—right here in Alabama.
We deeply value your commitment to arts education and thank you for recognizing the powerful impact the performing arts can have on your students.
 
First up is George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®
Alabama Ballet is proud to present George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker® as one of only eight companies in the world licensed by the George Balanchine Trust© to perform this holiday masterpiece. Tchaikovsky’s beloved melodies transport the young and young-at-heart to a magical world where mischievous mice besiege a battalion of toy soldiers, and an onstage blizzard leads to an enchanted Land of Sweets. We are thrilled to be accompanied by Alabama Symphony Orchestra for our first three performances.

*New, this season, when you order your general admission tickets at https://alabamaballet.org/educational-performances/ you will receive your tickets along with your email receipt.  You must present these tickets to the ushers upon entering the venue.
*Also, new this season, in order to prevent anyone from having to sit in the upper balcony section, we are offering homeschool families the same ticket price (plus facility fee) to attend a public performance.  For dates and times of our public performances please visit: https://alabamaballet.org/educational-performances/ .  To purchase public event tickets please call the Alabama Ballet Box Office at (205)322-4300.
Pricing is as follows:  
  • Students (kindergarten-K12) – Free
  • Teachers - $25
  • Chaperones - $25 
 
*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS AN OUTREACH PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS.  TEACHERS SHOULD NOT INVITE FRIENDS OR FAMILY MEMBERS WHO ARE NOT HOMESCHOOLING A KINDERGARTEN THROUGH GRADE 12 STUDENT. 
 
**Please try to limit one adult per every two students if possible to allow more students to attend these events.
*Seating is general admission, but please do not leave empty seats between you and a neighbor so that large groups can sit together.
