Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

Deb Spradlin,

I am Jennifer Jensen, newly-named sponsor for the local chapter of the
Eta Sigma Alpha National Homeschool Honor Society - Sigma Zeta Northeast Alabama. As the administrator for Everest Academy, you might be interested in Eta Sigma Alpha National Homeschool Honor Society. The local chapter, introduced by a homeschool mom in Crossroads Christian School, is open to all homeschoolers in our region based on the criteria below. We currently meet at Moody, Alabama and students are required to attend two meetings per year. If you are interested, please contact me at jenniferbjensen0324@gmail.com. Also, you may find out more about the organization here: http://www.etasigmaalpha.com/.

The purpose of Eta Sigma Alpha National Home School Honor Society is to recognize and encourage scholarship among home school students. To achieve this purpose, Eta Sigma Alpha National Home School Honor Society provides opportunities for the development of leadership and service. Eta Sigma Alpha encourages the development of an intellectual climate that stimulates the exchange of ideas and ideals, foster scholarship, and promote academic excellence. Eta Sigma Alpha also advocates homeschooling as a viable and successful educational methodology and acts as a liaison for homeschooling to the general public, colleges/universities, and the media.
