Fuller Goldsmith, age 16, is an aspiring young chef. In 2017 he competed on Food Network’s Chopped Junior, where he won the top prize of $10,000 and the title “Chopped Champion.” Later that year he was chosen as one of the top 12 junior chefs in the country, and went on to compete in another cooking competition on Universal Kids’ Top Chef Jr. He returned to Top Chef Jr. in 2018 to appear as a guest judge for the show. He has won several Alabama cooking competitions, including the Irondale Chef of 2018 and The West Alabama Food & Wine Festival Shrimp and Grits Battle. He is the youngest member of the Southern Foodways Alliance.
In February 2019 Fuller was treated for leukemia for the fourth time, being treated in Seattle with a novel treatment using his own immune system to put him into remission. He was the 8th child in the country to receive the specific treatment. He is a pioneer in the world of childhood cancer, leading the way to a cure for others without the harmful effects of chemotherapy or radiation.
Fuller is continuing to use his culinary talents for both public and private events. He regularly volunteers as a cook at local restaurants. He is planning to attend the Culinary Institute of America after high school.
